Incorporating Microsoft Excel

I used Microsoft Excel to create bar graphs and charts to display in the classroom. The first bar graph represents the amount of baked goods a third grade classroom sold in their bake sale. This chart was simple to make using excel and I created it as if I were a student. Using excel, you can change the colors, fonts, and add text as well as graphics. The website I used to help me design both of my Excel charts is called K5 Computer Lab. This site provides users with video tutorials on how to create a creative Excel chart for the classroom.
The second chart I created using Microsoft Excel was for a Valentine's day project where students were to chart the amount and color of candy hearts they were given. This chart could also be done by a student, but is a useful tool for teachers as well. Teachers can use this chart to help students strengthen their counting skills while motivating them to chart their findings as well. These creative charts are also more fun to look at than a regular bar graph would be.
