This project served as a way to explore the versatile uses of the SMART Board. I chose an activity that had already been created by another teacher and changed it to make it my own SMART Board activity. I also created my own lesson plan that included targeted learning goals for students.
For my lesson, I created an interactive math session where students would be engaged in color identification, basic addition and subtraction, and word problem comprehension. Students would work on their basic math skills while playing and having fun with the interactive "gumballs" on the SMART Board. A great resource that supplies educators with SMART Board lesson plans that have already been created by other teachers is www.exchange.smarttech.com. |
Why use SMART Board? This lesson provides students with the opportunity to do their own manual sorting and counting. Through the use of the SMART Board they are able to physically move the gumballs on the screen and place them in the correct section of a chart. They are also able to draw their own gumball machine and create their own mathematical word problems.
